United Have Offer Ready For Ronaldo
The potential move of World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo is more likely than it has ever been, according to Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague.
Ronaldo has reportedly been unhappy with Real Madrid's transfer policy and the possibility is growing that the Portuguese forward may push for a return to Old Trafford at the end of the season - six years after leaving the club for the current European champions Real.
That move cost Los Blancos an at the time world record fee of £80m, and any return could cost United a significant fee of their own despite the fact that the player will be 30 by next summer.
Balague said: "He's not happy that [Mesut] Ozil left and he's didn't like that [Xabi] Alonso and [Angel] Di Maria left.
"He has this idea that at Real Madrid he's doing a job, while he enjoyed himself 'like a kid' at Manchester United. He dreams of going back to Manchester United and Manchester United have all the finances in place to get him."
Bad News: Sandy Busby Passes On
Staff at Manchester United are sad to report
that Sandy Busby - son of the club's legendary
former manager Sir Matt Busby - has passed
away.
Speaking on behalf of the club this evening,
executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said: "I
am shocked and saddened by news of Sandy's
death. He was such a genuine person who had
a deep and rich love for the club that his father
did so much to establish in the hearts of
millions around the world.
"Sandy understood better than almost anyone
what the Manchester United way means and
his enthusiasm, his wit and his affection for the
club will be sorely missed.
"Our thoughts go out to Irene and his family at
such a sad time."

Blind Excited To Learn From Van Gaal
Daley Blind is delighted to be working under
Louis van Gaal at Manchester United and
insists his former Netherlands manager will
make him a better player this season.
The Dutchman made his Reds debut as a
deep-lying midfielder during Sunday’s 4-0 win
over QPR and can't wait to see what the future
holds for him at Old Trafford, where he can
absorb the knowledge and expertise of van
Gaal.
“He is very honest to everybody, he knows
what he wants and he knows his philosophy,”
Blind explained, while speaking to ManUtd.com
after the final whistle. “He can bring that to the
players and he can make a team with
everybody. That is a good start for us if you
want to work for each other. I have really
learned a lot from van Gaal and I like working
under him.
“I haven’t worked that long with him. I only
worked with him at the World Cup and in the
qualification games. A lot of the time I worked
with Frank de Boer at Ajax and I think Ajax
made me more the player I am now. Of course,
I was with van Gaal at the World Cup. He also
helped me a lot and I have learned a lot from
him. I hope to learn a lot from him in the next
season as well.
“I think he can make me a better player in
terms of positioning, where to stand and tactics
in games because midfield is an important
position to play. I hope I can get better at it
every day.”
While pleased with his first performance for
United, Blind is determined to improve his
understanding of the holding midfielder role in a
division that is much faster than he is used to.
“It was a bit different because the opponents
were going back so I had a lot of space to
control the ball and play it to the sides, mixing
it from side to side. I had a lot of space and that
was nice for me. We played our own game and
we played well. When we lost the ball we went
after it as a team. We won the ball back a lot,
so we did a good job.
United Under 21 Bags Four
Manchester United's Under-21s fielded a
strong side against Sunderland at Old Trafford
and were rewarded with a 4-0 triumph as
Adnan Januzaj bagged a hat-trick.
Lous van Gaal, who attended the
clash, perhaps treated the game as more of a
traditional Reserves fixture in order to improve
the fitness of some of his players. Luke Shaw
and Januzaj may still be eligible for this level
but their senior status showed as they were
joined by Anderson and Will Keane in the
starting line-up.
Januzaj took less than two minutes to register
a shot into the side-netting following a slide-
through pass by Anderson and Maksymilian
Stryjek was kept busy by Saidy Janko's cross
and a deflected Anderson shot. The powerful
Janko smashed a drive off target as a goal
seemed increasingly inevitable.
It was supplied in the 19th minute by Januzaj,
who was presented with the ball by Stryjek's
poor clearance. The Belgian fed Will Keane and,
when it was returned to him inside the box, he
arrowed home with his left foot.
Andreas Pereira doubled the lead three minutes
later when Josh Harrop passed to the
overlapping Shaw and his cross from the left
was met with instant control and a smart
finish from the Brazil Under-20 international.
The Black Cats were in danger of being
completely over-run as Will Keane displayed
clever hold-up work when found by Shaw and
Januzaj profited, illustrating his balance and
composure with an assured finish for his
second of the night.
Di Maria Claims Free kick Was No Mistake
Di Maria scored United's first goal in the 24 minutes with a curling free kick which went past everyone into the far post. Di Maria was involved in all three other of United's goals and directly assisted Mata for the fourth.
Speaking to skysports. He said, " I am very happy to score at home, we have been practicing it in training all week and I done it then, so its no surprise."
Di Maria was the man of the match as United cruised to an easy winning at Old Trafford against QPR.
Mata Hails Di Maria Display
Juan Mata scored his second goal of the season and the fourth goal of the day as Manchester United, comfortably win over QPR.
He insisted that Di Maria's free kick goal was straight from the training ground.
Di Maria scored United's first goal in the 24 minutes with a curling free kick which went past everyone into the far post. Di Maria was involved in all three other of United's goals and directly assisted Mata for the fourth.
Translating for his new team mate, Mata said "he is very happy with his debut and to score his first goal at home. He had been practicing during the week and he did it in training so its not a surprise for me"
"For me, I have to get to the box. I can help my team by scoring goals and it's my second of the season so I am happy."
Falcao Thanks Fans
Radamel Falcao has thanked Manchester
United's fans for the boisterous welcome that
soundtracked his debut in Sunday's 4-0 win
over QPR - including prolonged renditions of a
new terrace anthem in his honour.
The Colombian loan signing was named on the
bench by Louis van Gaal and did not emerge
from the dugout until the 56th minute, when his
much-anticipated warm-up was greeted by
rapturous applause from every Reds supporter
inside Old Trafford.
Falcao's eventual introduction, as a
replacement for Juan Mata just after the hour,
was met by an even bigger ovation that lit up
the stadium. While the 28-year-old was
disappointed not to score on his debut, he was
delighted by the reception he received.
"I am very happy for this victory and the
support was great," he said. "I want to continue
that way. I want to say thank you to the fans
and I enjoyed that a lot, this match. It was
fantastic. I almost scored. The goalkeeper was
good. I hope to score the next game.
"It felt good to make my debut here at Old
Trafford and I am happy to get the win. I am
enjoying this moment. It is an extraordinary
stadium, a legendary stadium. Bit by bit, we will
gel together as a team and the new players will
feel more comfortable. I hope everything
continues for us like it has."
Ronaldo Tired Of Madrid
Real Madrid have signed their fair share of big-name players in the last few years - their current side looks like the second coming of the Galacticos - but their biggest name might be on his way out.
Ex-Real president Ramon Calderon has said that Cristiano Ronaldo could head back to Manchester United because of the Ballon D'Or winner's affection for the English club.
Talking to talkSPORT, Calderon said: "When I signed him in 2009, I remember he said he was grateful to Manchester United.
"He had a marvellous time there, he likes everything. It is a really great club."
The Champions League holders have started this season badly in La Liga, losing two of their opening three games including Saturday's devastating 2-1 local derby loss to Atletico Madrid, and Ronaldo has looked out of sorts.
Calderon took a dig at the current Madrid president, saying: "My impression is he is fed up with the policy of the current president.
"When he came with Robben, he thought he would be a good colleague for him in the team.
"[Gonzalo] Higuain was sold and he didn't like that. Last year he thought it was a mistake to let [Mesut] Ozil leave and the last straw was selling Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria this summer."
Di Maria Asked To Persuade Ronaldo
Angel Di Maria could potentially hold the key to Manchester United's alleged attempts at re-signing current Ballon d'Or holder Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.
According to the Daily Express, Di Maria, who became close friends with Ronaldo during their time in Madrid, will be the one that United manager Louis van Gaal tasks with persuading the Portuguese superstar to come back to Old Trafford.
Ronaldo has been consistently linked with a move to United since he played against the club for Real in the Champions League in 2013. Also, after the recent events which saw Di Maria leave, Ronaldo is said to be very unhappy with the Spanish club's hierarchy.
Despite protestation from Real club President Florentino Perez that there is no problem, Ronaldo has previously said, "I have strong opinions but I can't always say what I think. Otherwise it would be on the front page tomorrow and I don't want that. But if it was up to me, I wouldn't have [sold Angel]."
Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly said to be keeping an eye on the developing situation, but Ronaldo has often spoke of his undying love for United and its fans and van Gaal hopes the Di Maria factor will be what ultimately pulls him back to Old Trafford.
LVG Hopes Attacking Football Wins Them The Title
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is targeting a Premier League title win during his tenure as Old Trafford boss, according to Sky Sports.
The Dutchman led his side to their first win of the season against QPR on Sunday, seeing £59.7m signing Angel Di Maria star on his Old Trafford debut. The host of new faces on display included Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo, while Falcao was brought on as a second half substitute.
While Luke Shaw didn't get on from the bench, all the players are set to form the basis of a squad that van Gaal wants to see win the Premier League title at some point during his three-year contract at the club. The United boss also insisted that attacking football will be used as the means to get there.
He said following the 4-0 win over Rangers: "I want to win the Premier League title. If it is not this year then the second or third year. I want to give a championship to the fans.
"I have always played attacking football in my 35 years as manager. All my teams have scored the most of the league so I hope at the end of this league we shall score also the most."
Encouragingly for United fans, the coach believes that United can still perform far better than they did on Sunday. Di Maria, Ander Herrera, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata scored the goals that put QPR to the sword, but van Gaal believes there is more to come.
He continued: "We always have to analyse what we have done. Of course the result is fantastic but we can do much better, I believe.
“Since 1st September, we only had three days together before the game with the internationals coming back and with the jet-lag, like Falcao. I think the result is fantastic, but we can get better. We have made a very good new start.”
We Can Do More
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has said that despite their impressive 4-0 win over QPR yesterday, the side can improve - even goalscorer Angel Di Maria.
As reported in the Telegraph van Gaal, speaking at his post-match press conference, said: “Di Maria is all right, but he has cramp. Normally you have to play 90 minutes without cramp, but that’s also a positive symbol that he gave everything.
“When you prepare three goals and you make (score) the first goal yourself, you cannot play bad but he had a lot of unnecessary losses, so we can do better. Even Angel Di Maria.
“Can you do better when you prepare three goals and make one? It’s nearly impossible. But I’m a coach and I analyse the game and I see things we have to improve as a team.”
The Dutchman's much discussed 4-3-1-2 formation didn't make an appearance yesterday, but he insisted that was an injury-related decision instead of a tactical one.
“I could hardly play with five defenders because (Chris) Smalling and (Phil) Jones were injured.
“So I was more or less forced to play with four defenders, but it’s also because of the quality of players that I changed the system.”
“I said to the players before the match that we have to make a new start today.”

United Records Its First Win
Angel Di Maria shone on his
Old Trafford debut as
Manchester United secured
their first win of the season
against a disappointing QPR.
Di Maria opened the scoring midway through the first
half as his left-footed free-kick evaded everyone and
beat Rob Green to his right.
Ander Herrera doubled the advantage following a pass
by Wayne Rooney, and the duo combined again as the
new club captain made it 3-0 before half-time.
Juan Mata made it four after Di Maria's wayward shot
found him free in the area before Radamel Falcao was
denied a debut goal of his own by Green late on.
Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind were handed starting
berths by Van Gaal, while Falcao, who moved to Old
Trafford on a season-long loan from Monaco on
transfer deadline day, was joined by fellow new recruit
Luke Shaw on the bench.
United, whose emphatic triumph ensured QPR
defender Rio Ferdinand endured a miserable return to
his former club, made a fast start to proceedings and
threatened in the seventh minute when Mata shot well
over the crossbar from the edge of the area.
QPR, with Sandro and Niko Kranjcar in their team for
the first time since the duo's deadline-day
moves, appeared to have weathered the storm as
some of the early intensity vanished from United's
play, but in the 24th minute Van Gaal's men found the
breakthrough their dominance of possession merited.
Clint Hill was penalised for a foul on Herrera and
visiting goalkeeper Green was beaten as an
inswinging free-kick from Di Maria evaded everyone
and crept into the bottom-left corner.
United had clear control of the encounter but Harry
Redknapp's side were almost gifted an equaliser in
the 31st minute by David de Gea.
The Spaniard rushed off his line in an attempt to clear
a long ball forward and was grateful for a diving block
from Jonny Evans that prevented Matt Phillips from
scoring.
QPR were given a mountain to climb 10 minutes
before half-time when former Athletic Bilbao man
Herrera drove a low strike beyond the despairing
Green to double United's lead.
Di Maria was heavily involved in the goal, surging
down the left wing before slipping a neat pass into
Rooney, who laid the ball off for Herrera to open his
account after the England striker had seen his initial
shot blocked.
Rooney effectively ended the game as a contest in
the 44th minute, rounding off a neat move involving
Herrera and Mata with a powerful finish.
Redknapp threw on Armand Traore for the
unimpressive Hill at half-time and the move almost
paid instant dividends as the substitute pulled the ball
back for Kranjcar to bring a fine save from De Gea.
Yet QPR could not prevent United adding further gloss
to a superb display. A cross-shot from Di Maria cut
out three players and left Mata with the simple task of
firing high into the net from close range.
Falcao was brought on to rapturous applause from the
home supporters, yet it was one of QPR's debutants
that almost cut the deficit, striker Eduardo Vargas
firing narrowly wide after being played through down
the right-hand side.
A glittering showing from Di Maria came to an end as
he was withdrawn with an apparent case of cramp
before the Old Trafford crowd end were denied a
fitting end to an encouraging afternoon when Falcao
was thwarted by Green, who also saved from
replacement Adnan Januzaj in the 90th minute.
United Starting xi
Man Utd XI: De Gea, Rafael, Evans, Rojo, Blackett, Blind, Herrera, Mata, Di Maria, Rooney, Van Persie.
Subs: Lindegaard, Shaw, Fletcher, Januzaj, Valencia, Pereira, Falcao.
QPR XI: Green, Isla, Ferdinand, Caulker, Hill, Sandro, Kranjcar, Fer, Phillips, Austin, Hoilett
Muller: I Never Wanted To Go To United
Bayern Munich forward
Thomas Muller claims his
rumoured transfer to
Manchester United was
never realistic.
The World Cup winner was linked with a move to Old
Trafford in the summer and a possible reunion with
former coach Louis van Gaal. But, in an interview with
The Guardian , Muller explained it was always unlikely.
I know there was interest, but Man United were
interested in a lot of players this summer," he said.
"It never really got anywhere because I had just
renewed my contract [until 2019], and Bayern were
clear that they saw my future here. The decision for
me was an easy one."
Muller was involved as Bayern beat Stuttgart 2-0 on
Saturday to continue their unbeaten start to the new
Bundesliga season.
United ultimately secured the signing of striker
Radamel Falcao on transfer deadline day to bolster
their attacking options, with the Colombian poised to
make his Old Trafford debut against QPR on Sunday .
LVG Wants Quicker Play
Louis van Gaal is urging his Manchester United
players to quicken the pace of their play,
starting with the Barclays Premier League
clash against QPR.
The Reds are still in search of a first
competitive victory under van Gaal following
two draws and two defeats in the opening four
league and cup games this season, and the
manager says that key to that is increasing the
speed in United's passing and the quality of
possession, which he has been working hard to
improve.
"I think we have to pass much more quickly,"
he told reporters. "We've lost the ball too
much, too early as well. Maybe the reason is
because I am demanding much quicker play so
the pressure is higher for the players and then
they lose the ball. It's a vicious circle."
Asked if the signing of players such as Angel
Di Maria will help enhance the quickness of
movement and passing, he added: "Yes, but not
only Di Maria can speed the game up – when
you look at the players we have bought, they
have that as well. But they have to show it now.
I hope they will do that."
The summer transfer window was certainly a
busy one for van Gaal and United and, while
the Reds boss is delighted with the additions
made to the squad, he admits the defence is
still an area he would like to strengthen.
"It's obvious, the defensive part," he said,
when asked which part of the team still needs
addressing. "We have more balance but it's not
balanced enough I don't think."
Rooney: United Can Still Win The Title
Wayne Rooney believes
Manchester United’s €186
million summer spending
spree could secure the
Premier League title this
season.
United completed moves for Radamel Falcao, Angel Di
Maria, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Ander Herrera and
Luke Shaw during the transfer window but are already
10 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Rooney, however, who insists the club have always
had the potential to spend big on 'top players', feels
Louis van Gaal’s new-look squad are capable of
challenging for the title.
"We always could [sign top players] but it was a case
of who the manager at the time wanted to bring in.
Obviously last season, we know we were not good
enough," Rooney told reporters.
"But the time is now right to get these top players to
get us back to where we belong – back to winning
titles.
"It's exciting times, it's interesting times for United.
We've not got off to the best start but we are
confident."
Falcao, along with Blind and Rojo, is set to make his
Premier League debut against QPR on Sunday after
join on a season-long loan from Monaco, and Rooney
is buoyed by the arrival of the Colombia international.
"He's a world-class player," said the recently-named
England captain. "It's a great statement of intent from
the club and I am looking forward to working with him.
"I've seen him play throughout the years and he's a
fantastic player. It's exciting, and also for the Premier
League as well, for him to come over.
"He could have gone to a number of other clubs but
it's great he's come over and we've got him. "It's
down to the manager how he chooses to play. He's
got myself, Falcao, [Robin] Van Persie, Di Maria, and
[Juan] Mata. So it's a great selection of players for
him to pick from."
Rooney Cant Wait To Play Alongside Falcao
Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is relishing the prospect of playing alongside the club's new signings, according to ESPN.
United have had a busy summer of recruitment after a poor season last year, and added the likes of Angel Di Maria, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao to the squad in the final days of the summer transfer window.
There have been questions with regards to how all the players will fit in to the system, but Rooney says the excitement is back at Old Trafford.
He said: "Obviously last season we weren't good enough, so the time was right to go and get these top players to get us back to where we belong - to winning titles again. It's interesting times, exciting times, we have not had the best of starts, but we will come good."
Falcao was snapped up on loan on transfer deadline day, and despite his arrival meaning there is more big name competition for a role as striker in the side, Rooney has back Falcao to integrate well with the line up.
He continued: "Falcao is a great signing. He could have gone to a number of other clubs but it's great we have got him. He is a world-class player so it's a great show of intent from the club and I am looking forward to working with him.
"Hopefully we will form a good partnership between him, myself and Robin. It's down to the manager how he chooses to play. With myself, Falcao, Robin van Persie, Di Maria, and Mata there is a great selection of players to pick from."
The new signings are set to be unleashed on Harry Redknapp's QPR on Sunday afternoon.
United Looking For Team Bonding Against QPR
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is expecting his new look squad to show their class in the club's Sunday afternoon fixture with QPR at Old Trafford.
The Star reports that the Dutchman wants United to show cohesion as a team unit and put the disappointing start to the season behind them. Van Gaal insists that despite boasting a series of top class individuals, they will need to work together in order to get their first win against Harry Redknapp's side.
He said: “You have to show it. And that is not just van Persie, Falcao and Rooney - it is all the players of Manchester United.
“They have to show themselves as a team. That is why I don’t want to speak about them as individuals. I think that we have to pass the ball much quicker and it is not only Di Maria that will speed it up. When you see the players we have bought, they have that - but they have to show it now.
“But while it is true we have to pass much quicker, we have lost the ball too much, too early. So trying to speed up our play - and I am demanding much faster play - puts pressure on the players. Then they lose the ball, so it’s a vicious circle.”
Despite the host of new signings, van Gaal also confirmed that he believes his squad is still unbalanced. He has started the season with a 3-5-2 set up and it looks set to continue in the QPR clash, but in terms of recruitment, it appears that his squad is not complete.
"We have more balance but I think it is not balanced enough. Obviously, I am talking about the defensive part," he continued.
Potential United Line Up Against QPR
Manchester United are still looking for their first win of the new Premier League season, but will hope to get just that when QPR visit Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils are set to give starts to a host of new signings for the clash, with many other squad members ready to play after recovering from injury.
Here is how they may line up for the clash.
Goalkeeper:
1
de Gea
David de Gea is United's first choice and will be hoping to keep his second clean sheet of the season against Harry Redknapp's side.
Defence:
12
Smalling
6
Evans
5
Rojo
Phil Jones is out for three weeks, but United are boosted by the news that Chris Smalling should be ready to return. Jonny Evans may take up the central berth in defence, while Marcos Rojo is likely to make his debut as left centre back after finally being granted a work permit.
Midfield:
25
Valencia
24
Fletcher
8
Mata
7
Di María
17
Blind
While Daley Blind's long term role is expected to come in the centre of midfield, he could debut in the left wing back position he occupied for Holland at the World Cup. Luke Shaw will likely be included in the squad but may be used as a sub given he is lacking match practice.
Antonio Valencia should get the nod on the opposite side, while vice captain Darren Fletcher could partner Angel Di Maria in the centre. Juan Mata may play off the front two.
Forwards:
9
Falcao
10
Rooney
Robin van Persie is said to be struggling with an ankle injury, so new loan signing Radamel Falcao may make his hotly anticipated bow at Old Trafford.
Wayne Rooney should partner the Colombian given he is captain, with van Persie and James Wilson offering back up options if anything goes wrong.

LVG To Change Training Schedule
Louis van Gaal has revealed he is making
tweaks behind the scenes at Manchester
United as his managerial philosophy continues
to evolve over time.
The boss has made alterations to his training
schedule in an attempt to address the injury
problems that have dogged his opening spell in
charge.
"I have always said I am not only evaluating
the players but I am also evaluating myself and
my staff," he stressed. "Now, we have a lot of
injuries so I’m evaluating why and I've changed
my preparation scheme because of that, for
example, and I’ve also changed what we have
to do after the match. I have changed the
schedule of times.
"It [the injury situation] is a big concern. I think
it is not nice that I cannot compare all the
players and, of course, we have evaluated how
we train but, for the level what I demand as a
coach, we need to train like that and the
players have to adapt to that level.
That is the
crucial thing. What can we do to adapt to a
certain level the players can fulfil but also so
that we also improve our level?"
Van Gaal's philosophy is continually focused on
achieving success and he hinted at some of the
many elements that form the basis of his
idealogy.
"It would take four hours to speak about the
philosophy and we don’t have the time for
that," he instructed the press. "It’s not only the
mode of play, it is also the way we are treating
players, the way we are building up training
sessions, the way we have to prepare for
games, the way we have to do our
rehabilitation, the process and the steps that
you have to make. It’s a lot of things. One of
the most important things is I’m seeing the
players not only as football players but as
human beings."
Jones Is United Best Player Of August
Manchester United fans around the world have
voted Phil Jones their Player of the Month for
August, highlighting his consistent start to the
season.
While results on the pitch weren’t ideal, the 22-
year-old caught the eye while playing every
minute of three Barclays Premier League
matches to earn 46 per cent of votes cast on
ManUtd.com and its six foreign language sites,
placing him ahead of fellow nominees Tyler
Blackett and Wayne Rooney .
After receiving his trophy at the Aon Training
Complex, Jones offered a frank assessment of
his and United’s campaign so far.
“I think I
have had a steady start to the season,” he
explained. “Obviously the results have not been
what we wanted, far from it, so we need to
improve and hopefully win on Sunday to get
our first win on the board and really kick on
from there.”
Jones also reserved words of praise for
Blackett, who has made a fine start to his
senior career: "He has got a big future if he
keeps playing the way he is playing and
progressing under the manager.

3rd - Wayne Rooney

Fan Angry About Blind Sale
Blind departed the Amsterdam ArenA with just days
remaining in the summer window, with Ajax
banking 17.5m but having precious little time to find
a replacement.
It is a situation that has garnered much criticism
from the club's fans this summer, but Overmars
only wishes the deal had come much sooner.
"I understand the supporters' feelings," he said.
"We weren't happy either when Daley left just
before the transfer deadline."
And Overmars even went further to reveal that the
24-year-old was almost sold to Aston Villa at a time
when he wasn't rated anywhere near as highly as
he is now.
"Could we have stopped the transfer? You could be
stubborn and say that no one else is allowed to
leave during the last week of the transfer window.
"One and a half years ago Daley was still jeered
and we were also hesitating over whether we
should perhaps sell him to Aston Villa for a nice sum
or look during the summer break at how he would
develop, knowing that his contract which expire.
"When you see what he has gone through and what
he has overcome, then you can't deny him this
opportunity.
"Then you become the big losers if you stop the
transfer."
LVG: We Can Still Win The Title
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has said that it's still possible for Manchester United to win the Premier League title, despite their poor start to the season.
When asked, Van Gaal said: "Yes, it is possible. This is because we have to play a lot matches and we are not so much behind.
"We have spoken about the target when we [Van Gaal and Woodward] had the meetings together. A club like Manchester United needs to put targets and I also put targets. I don't think it is unreasonable target [to finish in the top three].
"Whether it is difficult is another question, but a club like United must always put a target. Within the top three is logical because United always want to be in the Champions League. But we have to produce results, starting on Sunday against QPR."
He also insisted that he could turn the much-changed squad into a cohesive unit, although it might take some time.
"What we have done in the transfer period is very good. In spite of the fact we don't play in the Champions League, the players are coming to United and that is a big plus. But what the fans are expecting and what I expect are different.
"The fans will expect a new start of course and, with these kind of players, a victory. But I know as a coach that when you let 14 players go and buy six new ones you have 20 different relationships in the dressing room. The hierarchy has gone and now we have to build up a new one. That always needs time.
"It depends on the personalities of the players. We have a lot of Spanish players who don't speak English so well, so that is always a difficult part.
"We shall see who is playing tomorrow, but for a coach, it is always easy because he can decide the team and he decides on what he sees, or at least I do.
"I observe and then decide. I don't have any worries about that. I've done that for more than 25 years."
LVG: Releasing Ferdinand Was The Besy Decision
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has spiced up Sunday's match with QPR by insisting he has no regrets over letting Rio Ferdinand leave the club this summer, according to Manchester Evening News.
The Dutchman took the decision to not offer the 35-year-old a new deal shortly after coming in as boss, but Ferdinand is set to return to Old Trafford with new club QPR on Sunday.
Van Gaal's comments came even though United have been struggling for numbers at centre-half this season.
He said: "There is a time to stay and time to go and I think he decided to go. He was a great player and maybe he is still a great player, but there is always a time to go for a player in a club.”
Ferdinand made 444 appearances for United since making a £28.1 million move from Leeds in 2002, winning six Premier League titles and a Champions League crown in 2008. But he has regrets over how his exit was handled, insisting that he wasn't able to say goodbye to the club and the fans in the way he wanted to.
The former England star revealed: “I never got the chance to say bye when I left, which was unfortunate. Ed Woodward offered me the chance to come down and do that before the pre-season game against Valencia, but it didn’t feel right for me to do that. It feels far more natural for me to come back and play [for QPR], give everyone a wave and say, 'thank you.’
“It’s nice to have an opportunity to come and see everyone. “I went to the training ground over the summer to see some of the dinner ladies and the office staff that I’ve known for years and who helped me along the way.
“It’s an old cliché, but the club is bigger than everyone else and it’s so true. There’s more to it than one player and I understand that, I’m not selfish enough to think that everything revolves around me and that I deserve to stay at Manchester United. Everyone has their time to leave and mine was now.”
Fellaini Trains Alone.
Louis van Gaal has said it will be a month before
the gargantuan midfielder is back in action, but
Fellaini insists he will be fully fit in a week's time.
Fellaini joined the club for £27.5m last year from
Everton, but has failed to stamp his mark on the
Manchester side, making just 15 starts.
Could he gain a new lease of life under van Gaal?

Tom Cleverly Believs Man United carrier Is Over
New Aston Villa midfielder Tom Cleverley believes his time at Manchester United is over, having been told by manager Louis van Gaal that he was not in his plans.
The England midfielder completed a loan move to Villa Park from Manchester United at the end of the transfer window, and has admitted that he is thankful for a new start in his footballing career.
Cleverley came in for huge criticism while in the first team ranks at United - even from the club's own supporters. He insists that he is motivated to prove people wrong at his new club and get back into the international reckoning, according to the Telegraph.
The 25-year-old said: "I am happy to get away from some of the negativity that surrounded me at Manchester United. If any footballer gets a bit of stick off their own fans they are going to be hurt, but it has made me strong as a character.
"For as long as United aren’t winning trophies, players will get criticised, I’m fully aware of that. I’ve still got a league title and 13 England caps. You don’t turn into a bad player just because someone says it on Twitter.
“Football is a game of opinions, you can’t please everyone and the main opinion for me is the manager I am playing under. If you can please the fans at the same time that is a good season. I’d say I’m motivated to prove a few people wrong and hopefully that does increase my performances.”
Cleverley reflected on a tough season for Manchester United last year under David Moyes, but admitted that the 2013/14 campaign at Old Trafford will likely be his last. He has one year remaining on his United deal and he doesn't expect it to be renewed.
“If I’m honest I don’t think I’d play for the club again,” he said.
“The manager made it clear I was not going to play every week at United.
"It was a tough season for us last year. If all the players say they were high in confidence last season I think they would be lying. It wasn’t just me. It was the rest of the squad too, that rubs off on the fans, too.
“I’ve got away from the negativity of that and I’m now onto a new challenge which I can’t wait to get stuck into.
“[Leaving United] is not something I was scared of. I know in modern day football it’s rare that anyone plays for one club for the rest of their life like Giggsy or Scholesy. It’s been a big part of my life. Any footballer wants the best opportunity to play every week. It was common sense for me to try and get this move.”
Cleverley has seen the progression that now club mate Fabian Delph has made at Villa - given he has recently made his England debut - and is looking to use Delph's example to get his own international chances back on track.
He continued: “I feel it can be an upward curve to getting my career back on track. I want to improve Villa. Then I want to try and get back into the England squad like Fabian Delph has. There’s a lot of things I want to achieve here.
“Manchester United is in the past, my future is Aston Villa, that’s all I’m bothered about.”
Rooney Wins Man United Goal Of The Month Of August
Wayne Rooney's Acrobatic strike on opening day against Swansea, have won the Manchester United goal of the month of August.
The strike wasn't Enough to prevent Man United from sinking to a shock defeat at Old Trafford.
The goal which was a resemblance of his strike against Local rivals Man City. But , that against Man city was performed with way more difficulty as it, slightly deflected from Yaya Toure back.
The Strike against city stands as premiere league best goal of all Time.
Best Team Goal Of All Time
Watching a team combine to devastating effect is
something that gets every fan to the edge of their
seat. Here are ten of the top team goals ever.
10) Paul Scholes v Panathinaikos
Calm and composed passing from United here,
patiently building up to an exquisite finish from Paul
Scholes.
9) Cristiano Ronaldo v Ajax
A sublime counter attack from a destructive Real
Madrid side. The speed in which they move the ball
up the pitch is astounding, finished off cooly by who
else but Cristiano Ronaldo.
8) Carlos Alberto v Italy
A perfect combination of pace, trickery, and
teamwork from Brazil in the 1970 World Cup Final.
The finish powered home by Carlos Alberto.
7) Gary Lineker v FC Porto
A string of one touch passes in and around the box,
culminating in a Lineker finish past the keeper.
6) Mick Channon v Liverpool
Liverpool were left motionlessly ball watching here,
with Southampton moving from back to front with
quick one touch passing before Channon rifled
home a finish.
5) Estaban Cambiasso v Serbia & Montenegro
A fantastic move consisting of a massive 25
passes. Cambiasso was heavily involved
throughout, and put the finishing touch on the move
with an emphatic finish.
4) David Silva v Poland
Spain are renowned for their tiki taka style, and this
is a perfect example of it. A superb pass by Iniesta
to pick out Xavi, who unselfishly squared it to Silva
for a tap in.
3) Carlos Vela v Bolton Wanderers
Arsenal are well known for their passing game, and
this move certainly racked up a number of them.
Finished off calmly by Carlos Vela after a superb
Cesc Fabregas pass.
2) Marc Overmars v Liverpool
Barcelona are the pass masters of the modern
game, with Liverpool unable to get anywhere near
the ball during this move. The final ball to set
Overmars away is superb, and the Dutchman
supplies a finish to match.
1) Jack Wilshere v Norwich
The Englishman combined brilliantly with Santi
Cazorla and Olivier Giroud, before the French
forward flicked the ball into the onrushing Wilshere,
who finished nonchalantly past a bewildered John
Ruddy.
Giggs Defend United Youth Policy
Ryan Giggs insists Manchester United will
never abandon the club’s tradition of
developing young players and turning them into
first-team stars, despite the recent sale of
Danny Welbeck to Barclays Premier League
rivals Arsenal.
The 23-year-old England international and
former Academy graduate swapped Old
Trafford for the Emirates Stadium on transfer
deadline day with Colombian hotshot Radamel
Falcao effectively replacing him in Louis van
Gaal’s squad.
While it is always sad to see a local lad moving
on, particularly one who has been with the club
since he was a child, Giggs has quashed
suggestions the Reds have given up on a
famed youth policy that allowed him to
graduate from the Class of ‘92’.
“United will never change,” Giggs explained at
Soccerex, an annual conference that
has brought more of football’s movers and
shakers to Manchester. “The history of the club
is to play exciting football, give youngsters a
chance and keep to its traditions.
“Okay, Danny Welbeck has left but this is a
manager [van Gaal] who gave Clarence
Seedorf, Patrick Kluivert, Xavi, Andres Iniesta
and Thomas Muller their chances. Tyler
Blackett has played every game so far this
season. We also have Adnan Januzaj and
James Wilson.
"Players will leave but we have to make sure
youngsters come through. United fans demand
it. We are proud of our youth system. That's
what separates us from a lot of other clubs, we
always give young players a chance.
LVG Sees Blind As Midfielder
Louis van Gaal says Manchester United fans
can expect to see Daley Blind in midfield in the
coming season, but says the Dutchman’s
versatility makes him a valuable asset to the
squad.
The Reds boss managed the former Ajax
player during his time in charge of the
Netherlands, including this summer when the
24-year-old impressed at the 2014 World Cup.
Van Gaal is clearly delighted to have the
£14million deadline-day signing on board and
is looking to utilise his defensive midfield
qualities in particular.
“He is a player who can see situations in
advance," said the boss, when asked about
Blind's best assets in an
exclusive MUTV interview.
"He can [therefore] always pass to the free
player, and when he doesn't have the ball, he
knows when he has to press the opponent.
That's a very good ability to have.
“I like him as a defensive midfielder, but he can
also play in central defence or at left full-back.
“He can run for 90 minutes too and is always
fit. That’s another very good quality for a
player.”
Blind's fellow deadline-day signing Radamel
Falcao is another player that van Gaal is
excited about and one whose progress he has
followed for many years.
Shaw Ready For Debut
Luke Shaw is in line to make his Manchester
United debut against QPR on Sunday after
recovering from a hamstring injury.
The summer signing is yet to make his
competitive bow after picking up the problem
before the Reds’ pre-season game against
Valencia on 16 August.
But boss Louis van Gaal, who has praised
Shaw’s attitude during his recovery, revealed
the defender has returned to fitness, even if he
won’t play 90 minutes this weekend.
Ander Herrera and Rafael are also back, but
the news is not so good for United’s other
injury absentees; van Gaal remains without
nine first-teamers.
The manager said at his Friday pre-match
press conference: "When I left for the
international break it was 10 [players injured]
so only one is back – Shaw.
"Shaw is fit enough to play but not the whole
game – there is a difference. [Marouane]
Fellaini is longer than a month and [Phil] Jones
is maybe three weeks or a month.
"[Michael] Carrick is not ready but he has run
for the first time on grass, which is
unbelievable after eight weeks.
[Sam]
Johnstone has elbow problems, [Chris]
Smalling is not fit enough but he shall train
tomorrow with the second-team squad for the
first time.
"[James] Wilson and [Reece] James are not
ready yet, and [Jesse] Lingard and [Ashley]
Young are also injured."
Ronaldo To Make United Return
Man United are set to make a sensational January
move to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo according to the
Metro.
The 29 year old Real Madrid star could be set for a
shock Bernabeu exit with his agent keen to secure
a move when the transfer window reopens in
January.
Chelsea are also keen but a move back to Old
Trafford appears far more likely, not least as Man
United have first refusal on the Portuguese
international.
Man United have apparently already held talks with
super agent Jorge Mendes and Man United are
ready to offer Ronaldo in excess of £300k a week
should he indeed opt to return to the club he
represented with distinction between 2003 and
2009.
Louis van Gaal without nine
players for QPR clash
Though Ronaldo has proven a massive hit since
moving to Real Madrid in an £80m transfer back in
2009 the Spanish giants themselves have been in
something of a lull.
In five seasons in the Spanish capital Ronaldo has
won just one La Liga title though the club's historic
Champions League triumph in May, Real Madrid's
tenth European Cup/Champions League triumph,
may have helped appease the prolific attacker to
some extent.
Louis van Gaal has spent over £150m on new
signings this summer and clearly Man United's
owners are ready to dig deep again to land Ronaldo
and such a transfer would indeed be a massive
coup.
Five Reason Why RVP Should Start Ahead Of Falcao
Read on to see five reasons why the Red Devil's
manager should stick with Robin van Persie...
5) Understanding
Robin van Persie has already developed a good
understanding with Wayne Rooney and the rest of
the squad, while Falcao has yet to make an
appearance.
4) Adaptation Period
Falcao could take time to adapt to the pace of the
Premier League, whereas van Persie is already
adapted to the league, not only with United but from
his time at Arsenal as well.
3) Lethal Finishing
Falcao certainly can't be faulted for his finishing, but
van Persie is far and away one of the most lethal
marksmen in the Premier League, so nothing would
be gained there by dropping the Dutchman.
2) Loyalty
The 31-year-old has done a fantastic job for United
since joining, and has also performed well for van
Gaal in the national side. Does he really deserve to
be dropped...?
1) Team Disruption
We have seen countless times before that players
can often take time to gel with each other. With the
huge number of new signings United have made this
summer, including Angel di Maria, Daley Blind,
Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw, it could be
dangerous to throw them all into the mix at once.
Van Gaal doesn't have the option to rest some of the
new signings due to injuries, but Falcao is one
player that he could integrate slowly.
Jones Ruled Out For Three Weeks
The Daily Mail have reported that Manchester United defender Phil Jones has been ruled out for up to three weeks with a hamstring injury.
The 22-year-old picked up the injury on international duty, playing for England in their 2-0 win over Switzerland on Monday night. It was initially feared that he could be out for up to a month after he was forced from the pitch following 77 minutes of England's Euro 2016 qualifier, but scans have revealed that the injury is not as severe as was first feared, and he will only be unavailable for 2-3 weeks.
He could be replaced for Sunday's game against QPR by Marcos Rojo, who has finally had his work permit approved after a long wait. Rojo is one of four players who could make their United debuts on Sunday, with Radamel Falcao and Daley Blind signing since the Red Devils' last game, and earlier signing Luke Shaw finally nearing fitness.
United are favourites to record their first win of the season on Sunday, having previously struggled to two draws and a pair of defeats, as they play an underperforming QPR side who were hammered by Spurs just two games ago. However, Louis van Gaal will be cautious about underestimating Harry Redknapp's side, who beat Sunderland last time out.
LVG Hits Back At Trsnsfer Policy Criticism
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has said that Danny Welbeck was allowed to leave the club to join Arsenal for £16 million because he felt the 23-year-old didn't score enough goals.
Speaking at a press conference where he officially unveiled Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao, the Dutchman said:
"He played three seasons for the first team, but he doesn't have the record of Robin van Persie or Wayne Rooney. And that is the standard.
"That is why we let him go, because of Falcao, but also to allow the youngsters to fit in. That is the policy. That is why I am here."
He also hit back at criticisms of his transfer policy, with some detractors saying that he was releasing too many players who had come through the Old Trafford youth system.
"We let 14 players go, we have only brought six players in. That means there are many positions vacant, they are vacant for the youth. "I have already used a lot of youngsters in the season and pre-season, so I am always willing to give young players chances - but they have to take the chances. "The possibility is there. All the youngsters have to know that."
United Dont Want To Sell To Big Teams
The Toffees tried to sign Cleverley out of the cluthes
of Premier League rivals Aston Villa, before Paul
Lambert was able to push through the deal for the
England international on a loan deal, with Martinez
believing that United's reluctance to loan Cleverley
to Goodison Park was down to his side's
impressive performances last season:
"Maybe they just didn't want to send a player on
loan to a club that is going to be challenging for
things and finished above them last season, I don't
know."
"You can look at the table from last season and we
finished fifth and they finished a bit lower, so from
that respect you can understand."
With United having started the season slowly and
still sitting near the bottom of the table and without
a win after three league games, it is not out of the
question that they will be direct rivals with Martinez
and Everton again this season, although Louis van
Gaal will hope that late window signings of Angel di
Maria, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao will tip
things in his favour.
Martinez is known to be a big admirer of Cleverley,
having had him on loan during a successful spell
that the player spent at Wigan Athletic, and the
report suggests that he could be keen on a
permanent move for Cleverley at the end of the
season if his contract at United is not extended.

Cleverly Happy To Leave Manchester United
Cleverley was a target of criticism from a number of
United fans for his perceived mediocre
performances last season, whilst his appearances
for England were largely also greeted with derision,
but the former Wigan Athletic and Leicester City
loanee is keen to put that behind him during a
season at Villa Park:
"You don’t turn into a bad player just because
someone says it on Twitter. I probably wasn’t the
only United player to get it last year. For as long as
Man United aren’t winning trophies, players will get
criticised. I’m fully aware of that.
I’ve still got a
league title, 13 England caps."
The product of the United academy had looked like
an exciting young player when he first broke into the
United set-up after returning from an excellent loan
spell with Roberto Martinez at Wigan Athletic, but
has always struggled to win over the club's
supporters, many of whom have criticised his low-
risk passing strategy.
Having been told by manager Louis van Gaal that
playing time would be limited at Old Trafford this
season, Cleverley managed to secure a loan move
to Villa, with Premier League rivals Everton also
believed to have been interested in the England
international.
Manchester United Unveils Blind And Falcao
Manchester United Unveils Falcao and Daley Blind.
Manchester United signed Falcao and Blind from Ajax and Monaco respectively.
Falcao who was signed from Monaco on a loan deal, on dead line day said that, Man United is the club that suits him.
Blind who was Also signed from Ajax on dead line day also claims that, LVG knows how to read games.
Fellaini To Be Given Key Role
Not many fans at Old Trafford would have been sad
to see the Belgium international leave either, but
according to the Daily Star manager Louis van Gaal
is prepared to give the midfielder another chance to
impress.
After targeting the likes of Thiago Alcantara and
Cesc Fabregas last summer van Gaal's
predecessor David Moyes eventually made a
deadline day panic purchase of former player
Fellaini in 2013.
As things got increasingly worse for Moyes during
his ill-fated 11-month spell with the Red Devils the
26-year-old came to serve as something of an on-
field metaphor for his boss' struggles.
Since van Gaal succeeded the Scot in the dugout
Fellaini has not appeared to have been considered a
key part of the 63-year-old's plans for United, but
that is all set to change.
Currently the Belgian is sidelined with an ankle
injury and will not be in contention for first team
action for another three weeks, but before then the
manager plans to seek out the former Toffees man.
Van Gaal will assure Fellaini that is still a key part of
his squad and that once fully fit the midfielder will
have an important role to play as the Dutchman tries
to turn around the fortunes of the club.
