Man United are set to make a sensational January
move to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo according to the
Metro.
The 29 year old Real Madrid star could be set for a
shock Bernabeu exit with his agent keen to secure
a move when the transfer window reopens in
January.
Chelsea are also keen but a move back to Old
Trafford appears far more likely, not least as Man
United have first refusal on the Portuguese
international.
Man United have apparently already held talks with
super agent Jorge Mendes and Man United are
ready to offer Ronaldo in excess of £300k a week
should he indeed opt to return to the club he
represented with distinction between 2003 and
2009.
Louis van Gaal without nine
players for QPR clash
Though Ronaldo has proven a massive hit since
moving to Real Madrid in an £80m transfer back in
2009 the Spanish giants themselves have been in
something of a lull.
In five seasons in the Spanish capital Ronaldo has
won just one La Liga title though the club's historic
Champions League triumph in May, Real Madrid's
tenth European Cup/Champions League triumph,
may have helped appease the prolific attacker to
some extent.
Louis van Gaal has spent over £150m on new
signings this summer and clearly Man United's
owners are ready to dig deep again to land Ronaldo
and such a transfer would indeed be a massive
coup.
